The day was bright, and sunny. So cheerful it might make one of a lesser disposition sick. A few near-by gulls were cawing, as they searched for food among the rocks, and a cardinal pair sung gaily as they tried to convince their young to branch out from the nest.
One of the little red birds was a tad more daring then the others, and hopped out onto a nearby limb. Its parents, seeing that one youngster had at least gotten the message, abandoned it momentarily to try and coax the others out of the nest. While their backs were turned though, the little bird attempted another hop to a farther branch. Just then though, a strong breeze stuck the tree, catching the branching eyas, and carrying him off, dumping him onto a rock, only a few inches above the water. A wave crashed, soaking the little bird's feathers and it cried out weakly, terrified to be so far from its parents.
The parents heard the cry and lit from the tree, heading towards their wayward baby. But just as they approached, a lump formed in the water, scaring them off. They chose to land in the tree, and yell from afar.
The lump took formation as it rose out of the depths. First ears, then eyes, a head and muzzle. A white colored wolfish brute rose out of the ocean and stepped up onto the rocks. Water ran from his pelt, but it seemed that it instead poured from his very body. As if his fur poured too, a being that looked solid being nothing more then water.
Finally the water stopped dripping from his coat, and he padded across the jagged rocks, heading for the young bird. Gently, he lifted the scared and tired little thing into his maw, and carried it to the tree, leaving it at the base. Its parents would have to encourage it from there, for there was nothing more the brute could do, not being tall enough to reach the nest.
The strange brute returned to the shore, and shook his pelt thoroughly, before setting back on his haunches and looking back out at the ocean. He seemed to gaze for an infinite amount of time, before turning back to the land onto which he had stepped.
"Its been too long."
The brute padded forward slowly, scanning the area. It was a nice area, but not nice enough. He would have to find the perfect area first, if he was to start a pack. He chuckled to himself. Somehow he'd have to find members too. He didn't think that a 'hey, join the pack of the sea god' would work to well. Still, he knew things they didn't, and it would be wise of them to join while they could. Not that he'd ever deny entrance. Well, not if they needed it. If they chose to risk his anger, well then, things would be vastly different.

Flames. Destruction. Sorrow. Three things that followed the female timber wolf as she moved through the lands. A soft sigh passed through her lips as she made her way towards the body of water nearby. One might think that having the power of fire, the she wolf would fear the water. Maybe be afraid that it would dose her life as it did with the power she commanded. It was just the contrary though. Wolfess enjoyed the water. She hoped it would dose the flames that encased her soul. She hoped it would kill the fire that caused her so much pain and misery. She, of course, never had such luck. The water wasn't strong enough, wasn't powerful enough to kill the flames that resided within her.
Wolfess reached the water's edge just in time to see the brute rise from it, seemingly created from the water itself. Her golden brown eyes widened a fraction as she watched him. He was gentle. He was stunning. He was water! Wolfess made his way towards him, her paws quiet over the Earth before stopping not far from him and twitching her ears. She knew her frame radiated heat like a furnace and she knew he would probably know she was there, but she spoke regardless, "Hello." Was all she said. Unlike the destructiveness of her power, her voice was soft, gentle, like a warm caress of a loved one. Her voice was a soothing sound, enough to calm even the most rage filled beasts.

White ears twitched as the brute caught the dulcet tones of a fae wolf. He cocked his head, and glanced at her from the corner of his eyes. A rather strange, sideways look, before turning, and approaching the strange femme. He moved with a swiftness and fluidity that would be impossible if not for his origins. As he approached, his blue orbs took her in. She was to him, neither pretty or plain, but a being he considered almost completely different from himself.
Coming to a stop near her, he bowed his head in greeting. when he spoke, his voice was deep, and gentle.
"What brings a fire-maiden so close to my domain?" There was a quirky glint in his eye, and he kept his head tilted, watching her from his peripheral vision. It had been long since he'd taken a solid form. Long since he'd walked this land, and customs had always been rather strange to him. His mannerisms reflected what he knew, and tended to appear strange to most.
He wondered what had brought this fiery wolfess so close to the water. He wondered also if she might join his pack. He had tried once before and failed to make such a place, a haven of sorts amidst the squabbles of these strange land-wolves. But now, now he was determined to see his goal complete. If this femme chose to help him, that was fine. But if she chose to stand in his way...
Well, he wasn't a sea-god for nothing, now was he?

The she wolf watched him. His movements spoke of a power not many could call their own, yet those same movements were gentle. He was like her. His power was like hers. Water, much like fire, could be calm and gentle, yet fierce and unyielding at the same time. Her ears twitched as his voice flowed over her, calming the brimming fire in her soul and causing a small smile to crawl over her snout.
"Even a fire-maiden needs to drink and bathe once in a while." She replied in that calm, soothing tone of hers. She rather liked this brute. Normally, if she stumbled across a male, they tended to try and do something or other to try and take her as their own. This brute wasn't like that and it lightened her mind to know not all men were the same.
After responding to his question, she moved closer to the water's edge and gracefully dipped her head down to lap at the cool liquid. Steam seemed to issue from where her tongue met the water, as if her very touch set it to boil. After a few moments she lifted her head once again and turned to look at him before nodding towards the baby bird.
"Not many I come across would do something of that nature. They'd either leave it or use it as a toy." She stated with a sigh before moving to sit herself down, "It's nice to come across one that would help a young creature like that."

The brute nodded at the femme's comment. Of course, as a creature of the land, she would need to drink, fire maiden or not.
He found her nice, and similar to himself in a way that not many were. Seemingly kind and gentle, but probably fierce as well, if her element was to be judged.
He wondered if this femme would like to join his pack. If she would like to be the first member...he almost dared not ask, for his territory would have to be near water, and he would fear for her health should there be a flood.
Still, she seemed a kind wolfess and it wouldn't be right not to ask her. He watched as the femme passed him and drank (Wulfie, dont take this as godmoding, but I'ma change where she's drinking from, cause otherwise she just drank seawater >.>) from a small collection of rainwater in a rock. She had traveled here after all, maybe she wouldn't mind living so close to Cim's maker.
He shrugged his shoulders at her comment. He couldn't really explain -why- he had saved that little bird. Why he had saved that one, and yet let countless others die. Other than...
"It just wasn't its time." It wasn't that Cim wasn't a kind brute, or good natured. He was, but being born of the ocean made him impartial to the struggles of other. Like men sailing in their little boats...some lived, and some died. There was no connection with it, no real reason, just that it was their time.
He glanced at the femme, eying her curiously, before speaking.
"I'm forming a pack."

The femme's ears twitched lightly as he spoke and she tilted her head a bit to listen to his words. She nodded calmly at his statement, seeming to accept that. When he spoke of forming a pack, however, she blinked slightly in surprise, "A pack?" She said quietly, if only to confirm what she thought might have been a mistake in phrasing. How long has she wished to be part of a pack, part of a family. After loosing her true family within a blaze of what may or may not have been her own doing, that is the only thing she has longed. She sat back on her haunches to look over this brute, her eyes alight with something other then her inner flame.
Slowly she bowed her head to him, flattening her ears upon her head and giving a sign of submission to him, "I humbly ask for acceptance into this pack you wish to form. For longer then anyone may know I have wished for nothing more then a pack." She said softly, keeping her nose towards the ground. She could only hope that he would accept her into the pack, if not, it was back to wondering for her.
